The Shadow of the Obsidian Tower
hace 6 horas · Actualizado hace 6 horas
In the farthest reaches of the kingdom of Valtora, a dark spire rose against the horizon. The Obsidian Tower, as it was called, was a place of fear and mystery. It was said to be a prison for a great sorcerer, imprisoned centuries ago for wielding magic too powerful for the mortal realm.
But for Kael, a young historian, the tower was more than a legend—it was an obsession. He had spent years studying ancient texts that hinted at the tower’s secrets. Most dismissed him as a dreamer, but Kael believed the tower held knowledge that could change the world.
One stormy evening, Kael’s studies led him to an old journal belonging to a mage who had helped build the tower. Within its pages was a riddle: “When the three moons align, the gate shall open, and the shadow will speak.”
Kael waited for the celestial event, preparing for the journey. On the night of the alignment, he set out with his satchel of notes, a lantern, and a heart full of determination. As the moons cast their light on the tower, its obsidian walls shimmered, and the gate creaked open.
Inside, the air was heavy with the scent of ash. The walls pulsed faintly, as if alive, and a deep voice echoed through the chamber. “Who dares enter the Obsidian Tower?”
“It is I, Kael, seeker of truth,” he replied.
The voice laughed. “Truth comes at a cost. Face the trials, and you may find what you seek.”
The first trial took him to a room filled with mirrors, each reflecting a different version of himself. Some were noble and brave, while others were consumed by ambition. The voice asked, “Which one is the real you?”
Kael hesitated but chose the reflection that looked uncertain yet determined. The mirrors shattered, and the voice said, “You have passed the Trial of Identity.”
The second trial led him to a chamber of shifting stones. The floor moved beneath him, and every step required balance and focus. As he navigated the treacherous path, he realized the lesson was not just physical—it was about maintaining his resolve despite the uncertainty. When he reached the other side, the voice declared, “You have passed the Trial of Balance.”
The final trial brought him to the heart of the tower, where a shadowy figure waited. “I am the sorcerer imprisoned here,” it said. “What is it you seek?”
“Knowledge,” Kael replied. “To help my people and guide them wisely.”
The shadow studied him. “And if this knowledge brings danger?”
Kael hesitated but said, “Then it is my duty to wield it responsibly and protect others from harm.”
The shadow nodded and revealed a glowing tome. “This is the truth you seek. But remember, knowledge is a tool, not a weapon.”
When Kael returned to Valtora with the tome, he used its wisdom to advance the kingdom’s understanding of magic and history. He ensured the power of the Obsidian Tower was never abused, guarding its secrets with care.
Kael’s journey became a tale of courage and wisdom, a reminder that even the darkest places can hold light for those who seek it with a pure heart.
