Tom and the Big Balloon

Tom was a cheerful boy who loved balloons. His favorite was a big red balloon that his mother gave him for his birthday. Every day, Tom played with his balloon in the garden. He liked to throw it in the air and watch it float.
One sunny morning, Tom took his balloon to the park. The park was full of children playing and laughing. Tom ran with his balloon, and the wind made it fly higher. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind pulled the balloon out of his hand. "Oh no!" Tom shouted as he watched the balloon fly away.
Tom ran after the balloon. He saw it floating over the trees and into the town. He followed it past the shops and the fountain. Finally, the balloon got stuck in a tall tree near the bakery.
Tom stood under the tree and tried to think of a way to get his balloon back. A kind man who worked at the bakery saw Tom and asked, "What’s wrong?" Tom pointed to the balloon in the tree and said, "My balloon is up there, and I can’t reach it."
The man smiled and said, "Wait here." He went into the bakery and came back with a long stick. He used the stick to gently push the balloon down from the tree. "Here you go," the man said, handing the balloon to Tom.
Tom smiled and said, "Thank you so much!" He was very happy to have his balloon back. Tom decided to be more careful. He tied the balloon to his wrist so it wouldn’t fly away again.
On the way home, Tom stopped at the bakery and bought a small cake for the kind man. When he gave it to him, the man said, "You are very thoughtful, Tom. Thank you!"
From that day, Tom always remembered to be kind and to take good care of his things. He also made a new friend at the bakery, and every time he visited the park, he stopped by to say hello.
